Marriott Kingsgate Conference Hotel
Second Floor, Grand Ballroom
Cincinnati, Ohio

This activity is designed for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and other Mental Health Professionals interested in controversies and questions in psychopharmacology.
Psychiatric disorders are challenging conditions to treat. Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, and anxiety disorders can each be treated with numerous pharmacological agents. Yet, no medication is effective in all patients, and adverse event profiles further limit the use of most agents.
This activity will address many of the unanswered questions and controversies in psychiatry to educate psychiatrists on the best available evidence. Information about the most recent developments in psychopharmacology and their applications to difficult cases in clinical practice will be discussed. Specific areas of controversy in the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety disorders, and sleep disturbances will be discussed.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to
- Educate psychiatrists on the best available evidence which usually includes small clinical studies, case reports, and clinical experience
- Update clinicians with information about the most recent developments in psychopharmacology and how best to apply this knowledge to difficult cases in clinical practice
- Educate psychiatrists about controversial areas of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety disorder, and sleep disturbances
- Provide clinicians with tools they need to manage their individual patients with these diseases
